As HCSC continues to grow and support the needs of our members, customers, and other stakeholders, we also remain committed to investing in the communities we serve. Our dedication to supporting and strengthening relationships with local partners is engrained in our mission to create healthier communities, big or small, rural or urban. Through community engagement and continuing investments, we operate with a deep commitment to the people we have the honor of serving.
In 2022 we acted on that commitment by helping to expand access to quality, cost-effective care, promoting health education, and addressing hunger and nutrition challenges for communities experiencing on-going unmet needs. We continued to close gaps in preventative care and invest in organizations that advance equitable access to critical services. We drove business investments in all our communities, and the combined impact created an economic engine for jobs and community resources. We also earned best in class recognition from several organizations and media outlets, including Forbes, for our achievements in embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion in every facet of our company.
Our employees are at the heart of these efforts; in 2022 HCSC employees volunteered over 109,000 hours with approximately 1,800 organizations. The energy and excitement around partnering with our communities continues as we enter 2023.
Thank you for reading the 2022 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. The projects and investments that are detailed in these pages reflect the passion we have today as we move forward in the new year and find new ways to support our communities.
