For nearly 90 years, HCSC has always been there to deliver on our commitments to members, employer customers and other stakeholders while making an important difference through our community efforts. Through community engagement and ongoing investments, we are elevating how we support our members and the communities we serve. Our strong local presence and deeply rooted relationships allow us to partner meaningfully, creating healthier communities, neighborhoods, cities and states.
For example, to support the needs of our communities in 2021, we opened additional community centers, increased access to care through collaboration with partner organizations, continued the COVID-19 Community Collaboration Fund, and volunteered nearly 94,000 hours at local nonprofits and community partners.
We are proud of the positive impact we continued to make this past year, especially with the ongoing effects of the pandemic on the health care industry and the economy.
