CHICAGO — Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), the largest customer owned-health insurer in the United States, has appointed a new Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) officer. Claudia (Raquel) Daniels has more than 20 years’ experience developing and integrating DEI principles and best practices into Fortune 500 companies, most recently as director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Southwest Airlines.
Daniels will lead implementation of HCSC’s long-term vision and goals for DEI both internally and externally, in alignment with the company’s mission, values, and business strategy.

Nearly 37% of HCSC’s management team and 33% of Directors, Executives and Vice Presidents are people of color. 73% of employees identify as women, including 65% of managers.
