Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) has announced an expanded program to support mothers before and after childbirth. In this video, Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Monica Berner discusses HCSC’s long-standing commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes — and how the company is building on that foundation to do more.
“If a death is preventable, we want to be able to step up and help prevent it,” Dr. Berner says. “When we look at our connections with our communities and how deeply rooted we are in our communities — both with clinical and with social support systems — we are perfectly poised to serve as a liaison between those local entities and our members, and other individuals who are not our members and require the same services.”
