CHICAGO — Health Care Service Corporation announced today it has been awarded a Long-Term Services and Supports Distinction by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for its Medicaid programs in Illinois, New Mexico and Texas. The NCQA is a private, nonprofit dedicated to improving health care quality.
NCQA’s LTSS Distinction is awarded to health plans that demonstrate high-quality, effective health care and social services standards that align with state requirements for vulnerable individuals needing LTSS services such as older people and people with disabilities. Additionally, health plans must have core functions in place such as person-centered care planning, effective care transitions and critical-incident management systems with built-in health equity principles and patient protections.
“We are honored to receive this distinction from NCQA for our commitment to advancing quality initiatives for integrated care and improving the overall health outcomes of our members across Illinois, New Mexico and Texas,” said Nancy Wohlhart, HCSC's Medicaid president. “This recognition showcases our dedication to provide effective, coordinated care to our more than 55,000 members receiving long-term services and support.”
HCSC serves more than 1.1 million Medicaid members across the three states.
