Healthy Kids, Healthy Families®

Healthy Kids, Healthy Families is a three-year initiative designed to improve the health and wellness of at least one million children through community investments by Health Care Service Corporation and its Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

The Healthy Kids, Healthy Families initiative will invest in and partner with nonprofit organizations that offer sustainable, measurable programs to reach children and their families in the following areas:

  • Nutrition education
  • Physical activity
  • Disease prevention and management
  • Supporting safe environments

We welcome the opportunity to partner with nonprofit organizations that share our goals, and we invite you to read our grants page to learn more about how we can collaborate. You are welcome to contact us or visit our Social Responsibility Report for more information about any of our programs. We look forward to hearing from you.

Examples of major partners in each of our focus areas include:

American Lung Association

Through out partnership with the American Lung Association, we work to directly impact children with asthma and their caregivers, community leaders and educators, resulting in improved long-term care outcomes.

Partnering with KaBOOM!, we facilitate building safe community playgrounds and help spread the word about the importance of play to increase children's physical activity.

Mobile Health Vans

Bringing mobile immunization outreach clinics to the community, our mobile health vans increase access to care to underinsured children and adults.

We are excited to partner with and spread awareness regarding teen dating violence in addition to providing resources and training to better equip our children and communities to respond to this growing need.
